Hi Nancy,

All is well for me here on the northern coast of California. My son is at the University in San Diego obtaining his Masters degree. He's still ok living only one block from the coast there. The University has closed down and the air is pure smoke with ashes covering cars, etc clear to the coast (about 20 minutes by car to San Diego State). He'll be in close touch and has decided to travel south (Baja) to surf while his job and classes are shut down.

What devastation..it's just horrible! Prayers are needed for those folks! If Santa Ana winds die down they will be better able to contain the numerous fires!

Any other Californians here?

Hi Nancy and Zipper,
You are right, what a devastating thing that is going on. Prayers are needed for all those folks and also for all the firefighters and other emergency personnel that are risking their lives to help and save others.
They are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dave

Hello Everyone!
The fires are horrific! My Son lives in Rancho Cucamonga in a house that they just bought in August. So far, the fires are several streets away, but everything is covered in ash and the air quality is terrible. We have been in constant contact with them and so far they have been very lucky. The prayers for the firemen and families would very much be appreciated.
