I have been doing well recovering from my unsuccessful first OHS and I was walking and have even been sleeping half way decent. Two days ago in the middle of the afternoon I started to feel short of breath with just a few steps. I also feel like someone is pressing on the major blood vessels in my neck so not alot of blood is going to my head. It is really uncomfortable but only happens when I walk around, even just a few steps. My heart rate will go up suddenly too and now all I can do is just sit around. My mom says all the color goes out of my face, even my lips. I feel terrible and I am soooo tired. I was doing so well and I thought I could at least enjoy a couple weeks with my daughter before I had to do it all over again but now I feel like crap and I can't do anything. I am taking metoparol and my thyroid replacement and pepcid when I need it. I haven't changed anything. It happened right after I tried to clean the house two days ago and hasn't gone away. I am really depressed. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it go away?

Jody....no, I have not......Have you called the doctor?.....If you haven't ...please do.

Hi Jody,

Oh that's awful...and a pretty scary situation to experience too.
Chris didn't experience those symptoms, but in my humble opinion I would get it checked out straight away, without delay. Can you ring Dr. Bove? Cardio? Or just go directly to the hospital.

You've been thru so much, I'm sorry that you're now going thru this.

I'm sure some of the more experienced members will chime in soon and lend their advice.

Hugs,
Yolanda

Jody-

When there is a rather sudden change which makes you this uncomfortable, you have to call your doctor or even go the ER if it seems like it is getting worse.

Could be a lot of things, could be fluid buildup, heart arrythmia and probably several other things.

Don't linger around get some help so you can feel better and go on with your recovery.

I agree, when sudden changes for the worse come on, it is best to "Check it Out", either with your Cardio or Surgeon, or go to the ER (afterhours), i.e. TONIGHT.

Exactly!

Sometime when you are used to feeling bad and hearing no workable solutions, you assume something new will just get you the same ol' answers. (been there, done that) But you do need to report any changes to your doctor ASAP.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time of it. I hope by now that you are feeling better and/or you have contacted your card and relayed to him what is going on. I also would not hesitate to contact Dr. Bove and relay your symptoms. He might want to bump up your surgery. If you would prefer to e-mail him, give me a shout and I will PM you his e-mail address. Keeping you in our prayers. Hugs. Janet

Jody!

Jody!

Got your e-mail. I e-mailed you back, but our computer crashed recently and the e-mail program is acting really funky. Let me know if you didn't get it. Hugs. J.
