Hello everyone. I have a quick question. Could being on Coumadin cause large brusing and bump just from minor contact. I ask because this afternoon work I had my hands full and was putting my things in my car when all of a sudden my door closed and hit my on my arm a little above my right wrist. It really did not hurt and I did not think anything of it. Anyway I was just now sitting in my living room watching a movie when all of a sudden I noticed a bump and just a little brusing. I hope it does not get any bigger. Just wondering is this kind of injury normal while on coumadin? I am just putting pressue on for now.

Bonk! Ah nuts...that's going to be a bruise!

Happens to me all the time.

Cheers!

Yup! I'm just like Perry, every time I get a bump, I make a mental note to admire the bruise the next time I'm in the shower. If your INR is in range, it's not something to worry about every time.

Karlynn brings up a good point about making a mental note. Not to be too annal retentaive about it, but if you see bruises showing up that you can't explain, either your drinking too much :D, or something else might be going on.

For me, the bump lasts longer than the bruise.
The ugly purple bruise goes away after many days, the bump lasts a long time, especially if I have hit myself pretty hard.

Hi.
Ahhhh yes...those lovely black-n-blue marks.
Most of the time I look like I've been beat up. The other day at work...an ice-cube fell from the freezer & hit the back of my hand...and left a small cut and a immediate bruise and knot.
An "ice cube" for goodness sakes! How whimmpy is that ?
If your INR is on track...you're going to bruise easily.
Better to be bruised , than the alternative without coumadin.
Wear em with pride...Lulabelle
