Since surgery, I've been breaking out on my face, chest and shoulders. I haven't had that happen since I was 14. Has anybody else had this issue, and think its related?

I see the dermatologist wed, is there anything I need to avoid that may be prescribed? This is all new again.

Thanks.

On top of your medications, which I may not be able to comment to much, has your diet and sleep changed much? In any age even young people in their early 40s, you could have teenage like acne if your sleep gets out of whack, and your sugar intake goes up, etc.

Sleep has been perfect, I'm eating better than I did before surgery. The only medication that isn't Tylenol or Xanxex ER that I've been taking since 07, would be my beta blocker, Metroplol(sp)?

I mean this happened almost a week after surgery, and just won't slow down.

My guess would be your body is getting rid of all the drugs and impurities so is probably clogging your pores etc It isnt uncommon to sweat alot post op especially when you sleepso you might have to wash your face neck a couple times a day until things clear up

I had folliculitis on my chest when the hair started growing back. no breaking out. How old (young ?) are you Ovie? Maybe just a result of normal growth pattern ?

26 this month, but haven't suffered with the issue since, I was 14-15 years old?

You make a valid point Lyn.

I've never suffered from Acne, but I would second what Lyn suggests - Try to take several hot showers a day if you can, keep eating healthy, sleeping well, and use an unscented, "pure", and "plain" soap. Your dermatologist will probably have some suggestions.

I konw that several people I know get acne when they do "cleanses", and changing your diet to something more healthy, and getting rid of all the drugs pre and during surgery is likely the biggest culpret. That and a lot of sweating post surgery!
