Got back last night. 8 pm our time, 4 am my body's time. Wow am I tired. But we had a wonderful trip to Paris. Snuck on the internet once while there to check in on y'all. I can't remember the last time I've done so much walking and the ol' ticker did me proud. Started getting shin splints on my left leg, so Glenn's threatening to shoot me since I've come up lame. We basically ate and drank our way through Paris. Will test the ol' INR tomorrow to see what damage I did.

Here's a few shots.

My daughter Shelby and me at Rodin's home in Paris.

Okay, just noticed the sculpture in the background. Thanks Rodin, how did he know I'd be posting this on VR!!

This is me with some guy I picked up and brought home.

Loved the photos... Never been to Paris -- other than Paris, Texas :D. (My grandmother was born in Paris TX)
Do you have any more you can post, after you recover from your trip?

Looks like Karlynn managed to pick up a pretty hot "boy toy" while she was there! ;)
Karlynn, your husband is just as attractive as you are (and your daughter)!

Oh Karlynn.....

Oh Karlynn.....

You did bring home a real hottie! :D

More, more, more pictures pleeeeeeze!

Wonderful you had a great time and a safe trip home..

Tips please -- I'm off to Paris next month.

Ross and Les, y'all behave!

Hey Janie,
When you go to France, do you think you could pick up a couple of guys like Karlynn did? We could use some back here in the good ole USA! A few dozen would be good (bring them to the reunion)!!!!
Les,
I'll answer the question. It's not a French Maid. If Karlynn really picked a guy up, it's French MADE!!!!!

Great pictures Karlynn! Beautiful daughter and yummy husband. I hope you indulged in all that wonderful French cuisine!
Sue

wow - looka them nekid people in that first picture - bet they didn't need any toys.

Beautiful pictures. Lovely Rodin residence, isn't it - little ole thang.

I carbohydrated my way through Paris. But the walking helped equalize that, so I only added a few pounds that will hopefully come off easily. I LOVE creme brulee, so I had that just about every evening for dessert. We usually got up in the morning and headed out, usually stopping at a pattiserie to grab something. I usually grabbed a pain au chocolat.

One of the great things about our trip is that we met the soldier we have been writing to for a year, who was in Iraq. He is stationed in Germany and just got back about 3 weeks ago, so he was wonderful enough to drive about 5 hours to have dinner with us. It was like meeting my long lost little brother. I must have hugged him about 2 dozen times and we talked the night away.

Anne - we saw lots of nekid stone people. I'm finally beginning to understand why my husband loved the sculptures.

Janie - be sure and take a river cruise at night. It is so lovely. My favorite place was the Eiffel Tower, which we saw for the first time at night. After dark, the tower has millions of lights on it that flash for a bit on the hour, like a Christmas tree. I guess they did it for the Millenium celebration and people asked them to keep it. I loved Musee D'Orsay, which is just across the river from the Louvre. It has the impressionists' work in it. And of course we saw Mona at the Louvre. We really wanted to get to Giverny, where Monet did many of his paintings, but we ran out of time.

Shelby's boyfriend took this picture of us. It may look like I'm standing in a hole, but I'm not. The Amazon to my left is God's little payback for me, for always teasing my Mother about being short. I'm just about 5'9" I used to walk up and rest my chin on the top of my Mom's head. Now my daughter does the same to me.

Quelle thread! As soon as you log in, you get mooned by Rodin!

Ross! Put censor thingies on those daring derrières! Ban those brash behinds! After all, this isn't a proctology website...

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Of course, now you will never be able to eat Wonder Bread again, or look the same way at an Elvis in Velvet.

Share more photos, when you rest and have time.

Best wishes,

I was a sweet, innocent child until I joined VR and Ross corrupted me. I'm sure he is why those posteriors made it into the photos. I don't even realize what his wicked ways causes me to do.

Hi Karlynn,

Welcome home! We missed you while you were away. So happy you all had a wonderful time! :) Thanks for sharing your photos.

Tracy is still trying to get me to "approve" our trip to Europe this summer. I am still acting like a big old chicken.

I'm jealous! No just kidding, glad you had fun! I am really looking forward to my 20th wedding anniversary. Since Kev and I didn't have a big wedding, we are going to take a tour of Europe(especially Crete and Italy) I really want to go to Italy. Hopefully they will get some emergancy medical stuff there so we can go there for a few years! I especially liked the picture of you and your daughter...how tall is she??????? Of course your husband is pretty cute too! Take it easy, and post more pictures!

Joy,
We loved loved loved Venice and Rome when we were there 3 years ago and can't wait to go back. We're thinking for our 25th anniversary in 2 years. We were also in Greece on that trip, and it was very cool. That trip was our first "real" vacation and it was a magical one for our family. Our honeymoon was a trip to Missouri with my husband's family. Not a good sign of traveling to come! It took me 20 years to convince him there is a really cool world to see out there and now he's got the travel bug. Yea!!!! You can teach an old dog new tricks!!

Put Glenn on. I wanna know why he missed the perfect opportunity to throw your butt in the fountain? :D
