Bob Gleason

I recently was diagnosed with Rotator Cuff Impingement by an orthopedic dr and was given a cortizone injection in my right shoulder. (Maybe I have been playing too much golf, lately)

he told me that I would experience some pain in the next few days but that would subside and the pain would diminish so that I could begin physical theraphy. After two days, of excrutiating pain and less of an ability to move my arm, I tried some exercises and heard what I thought was a 'pop" in my shoulder. The next day, my arm in the muscle are was black and blue over a space of about 8 inches.

My cardio says a blood vessel burst in my arm as the cortizone injection was too much. My INR went up to 7.4.....i had to get off coumadin for two days and now it seemed to have normalized.

My cardio wanted to put me in the hospital with my INR as high as it was, but thankfully, it came down to normal range.

Has anyone heard of anything like this? The "bleeding" I am told could have been disasterous if that vessel did not eventually clot itself.

Saturday, however, I did play golf and shot my low round of the year..........77. Guess there must be something good that came out of this!

Wow!

Wow!

Bobby Bobby Bobby - You are a man of adventure. Some people will do anything to get their score down. Next time try bursting a big one and maybe your score will go down further :D

It's good to hear from you even if it takes an internal explosion to get you to post.

Did you book your room for October yet?

It's only two months away!

Hey Bob,

I recently had to have a cortisone injection in my left shoulder due to bicipital tendinitis. Thankfully, I had none of the reactions you had!! I may have to have another one in the future and now your experience has me scared of it. Did your Doc say it's an unusual occurance??? I didn't even have a bruise, not much pain, and went to physical therapy 2 days later! Tell me more......please....

Man, that had to hurt?!@**!!

Good to hear you got through the problem, Bob and that it somehow, amazingly improved your game.

I had a severe side ache early in the season and the only thing that would cure it was MORE golf. Played with the pain in my foursome. Didn't help my game, but I trudged through it.

Good to see you posting again, too.

Take care.

Hi Bob,

I knew something had to be painfully wrong for you not to stop and in at least drop us a quick note. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Golf can be brutal on ones body. Tracy has been having back problems from 'swinging' too much. Good excuse huh? ;)

Dust off those dancing shoes and book your room for Vegas!

Hi Bob,

OUCH! That had to hurt. All bruised! Hope you do feel better soon! Gald to see you finally have posted again. Are you going to Vegas! Thought for a couple of days there Gina wasn't going to make. It appears she came up with a game plan though! Perry, Kathie, Gina and I are going to try and be on the same flight together. We haven't made our flight reservations yet. Hopefully we'll see you there! Keep playing golf, sounds like you have plenty of players. Take care of yourself!

Thank goodness that the good Lord was watching out for you. I hope that person is more careful in the future with the injections. Glad you pulled through. Take care.

HI

HI

Bob-

Well - I'm gald you at least didn't have to be put in the Hospital.
I haven't heard of that happening from a cortisone shot. You know, we all can testify to the weird happenings us valve replacement people have.

And at least you got a good golf game out of it!!!!!

Take Care.

Tammy

Thanks tammy

Thanks tammy

But more important than me, I hope you are doing better and on the road to a full recovery. I have been praying for you each and every day.

Say hello to Todd for me........Tell him he's got an open invite (of course you and Dave too) to come back to Princeton anytime he wants. I enjoyed being his "host".........
