;) Hello all!

We are home after a full PC appointment! I do have a question for all of you who have Mechanical Valves, is it diffcult for your health care people to get a blood pressure because they keep counting the valve clicks and not the heart beat?

OK, on with the appointment, we finally got a blood pressure with a mechanical blood pressure contraption and it was perfect, 98/60, yes!! EKG was a normal sinus rythym and Echo showed a "excellent functioning heart". Alexia weighed in at 113 pounds and Dr. Juris gave her the option of making her visits annually or every 6 months, she chose every 6 months, for piece of mind! Sounds good to me. She will continue on 5mg of Coumadin and that is her only med.

Life is good and I appreciate all of your prayers and good thoughts......

Love you all (and I don't even know all of you)

Valerie

I've NEVER had anyone have a problem getting a bp due to mechanical valve.

Glad to hear of the good checkup - it must be a big relief.

I have also never had anyone have a problem getting a BP due to the valve. However, a-fib can present a problem.

Thinking.......

Thinking.......

....because of the defect and the nature of her repair, maybe this is the problem. Her vlave is very close to her chest wall which makes it very loud in some cases. For example, In her Criminal Justice class the other day taking an exam when someone shouted "will you turn that #@?!** clicking off!!??" She had a good chuckle.

Welcome more from out there!

Valerie
