Hi,

I've been thinking about asking y'all about this ... for the past year and a half, I've had a feeling of pressure in the middle of my chest in the mornings upon waking. It feels like fluid that creates an asthma-like breathing sensation. It's not severe, and I don't get out of breath, but it's getting worse.

Lately, I've tasted blood with the phlem that comes up when I clear my throat or cough to relieve the congestion. Again, it's not severe like a bronchial attack, but it's always there! I mentioned it to my cardio; he's performing the cardiac MRI in part to investigate this.

Has anyone experienced it? I'm just wondering how seriously I should consider the "symptom", and whether I should push for further tests, (something I dread).

Thanks,

That is a constant and ongoing problem for me Kim. Mine is from the Pulmonary Hemosiderosis and bleeding alveolar air sacs, but it could be symptoms related to heart and or lung infections too. Only a Doctor is going to be able to pinpoint the problem. :(

Hey Kim,
It could be a number of things and like the rest said, I think you should go see your Dr. just to be on the safe side. If it is something that needs attention it can be taken care of before it becomes something major. I hope it turns out to be nothing.
Keep us posted.

Dave

I called the nurse and am scheduled for a chest x-ray next week. She was reassuring, i.e., "it's probably an allergy," etc. I asked if it could be early CHF and she said, "Anything's medically possible, but in your case unlikely, given your age."

I've learned that everyone's different, as we've witnessed some with regurg who have no symptoms and others who do. So, I'll continue to press for answers until I'm convinced that it's benign and nothing that could cause permanent damage.

I hate to admit it, but it took me about a year and almost dying during Labor to have this kind of confidence about my health. The support I receive from this community has helped so much!

As always, thanks for your kind words. I'll keep you posted.

Best,
