When they did the angiogram prior to the surgery, they found that the Illiac artery on the right side was 80% blocked. After reading on periphereal vascular disease, I have had most of the symtoms. Has anyone had this ? I am seeing the dr. next week and are having a vascular test done again. The vascular tests have not shown anything but the angiogram has. In my operative report, he shot the dye in 3 times. Woul appreciate any info, Thanks,

Is that one of the coronary arteries?
If so, I'm surprised they didn't go ahead
and perform and angioplasty (and maybe
a stent as well).

What do you mean my 'vascular tests'?

'AL'

They do a doppler on the artery and put blood pressure checks on both legs in different areas and then you have to go on the treadmill to see if claudification occurs while you are excercising. The blockage is on the right side in the groin area. The last 2 tests were inconclusive. I have had problems with this leg for at least 5 years. Had 2 knee surgeries. When I walk alot I get a pain in my butt on the right side and the calf and knee. I am just wondering if part of the knee problems has been the blockage. I wish they would have addressed this at the time they did the surgery. I guess one thing at a time. Thanks,
