Really?? I have been on Coumadin for 33 years, yes... since 1978. This is a new one on me. About 2.5 weeks ago, I took an orange stick to my cuticles and pushed them back. No big deal. My left hand is unscathed, the right hand cuticles continue to ooze. I am right handed so I can only assume that I was more clumsy with the left and kinda damaged the right hand.

My INR is lower than usual, at about 2.8... I am usually around 3.5 to 4. BUT, it continues to ooze just ever so slightly. I constantly have a reddish/brown line around the cuticles, and a little line under the top of the nail. Has anyone ever experienced this?? Any insight or advice?? Greatly appreciated!!

Im a new/oldie here. Old old member, but I don't get around here much. Thanks!:confused2:

Wow Mindy...that's a new one on me. I wish I had an answer for you. Is it all the nails on your right hand or just one or two fingers? Is there a possibility of some sort of infection? Just throwing stuff out there for you.

Thanks guys for comments. My PCP looked totally baffled and said put Neosporin on them. Now that you mention it Kristy, the thumb of the right hand is not involved. Just the other four fingers. I see no change, I thought it would subside over time. Sigh....... not a big thing.. but sure makes me wonder. PCP is doing complete blood studies on Monday. I will be interested in that.

Yup. Sounds like infection to me, too. If you did your left hand first, then the right, perhaps there was something on the left that transferred to your right. Neosporin may help - but I"m guessing that it may be something slightly more systemic that a different antibiotic would be best for.

I'd be interested in what, if anything, your blood test shows up.

Been watching this thread and I'm just wondering, since it's still seeping......
1) is your fingers seeping blood or is it a more of pale red?
2) could you use (if you have it) one of those pencils men use when they nick themselves while shaving? It may tingle for a bit but it may stop the seeping. JAT
3) do your first knuckles hurt? Mine did when I had an infection under the cuticle.

Wow, I would be baffled too, Mindy! I hope you get some answers when your blood studies are completed. Let us know how that goes and take care!

Been thinking about you.....good to see you! :)
