Forgive my ignorance if this has been brought up and discussed before....and forgive if I have this in the wrong forum... But...a buddy from one of my MC message boards asked if I had heard of the "Bio-Z" procedure....

here is part of what he wrote:
"...you should look into a place that has a process called a bio-z. (made by a company called Cardionamics) It is proven to be way more effective than those catheders, and it is non-invasive. It is also covered by insurance."

I expained to him that I'd never heard of it (at least, I don't think I have...LOL)...and he replied with this:

"If you search the whole website [ http://www.cardiodynamics.com/cdclin30.html#accuracy ], you could probably find more. Cardionamics has partnered with GE Medical Systems, if that tells you anything. This is a product which is still establishing itself in the medical field, but I think it will one day become the standard. ... There are only 2,800 units insalled in the world, so it may take some time before one gets in your area. The BioZ can also be used to finetune your pacemaker. I think you should look into it, especially if it can save you a big hospital stay, big hospital bill, and maybe help you get healthier."

Ssssooo...anyone here heard of it...or had it done?

Just curious......figured I'd post about it here and get some opinions, etc., before I mention it to my cardiologist.....since I don't know much about it....LOL. Heh...hope that is OK....

Peace...always,

Hmmm...you are welcome for the linky :).

Anyone else....any ideas/thoughts/opinions? Was hoping to get some feedback before I "spring" this on my cardiologist...LOL!

Hi Cort,

Not familar with Bio-Z.

But you may be interested in the thread I posted on e-Speed. Vitrual caths.

Undersatnd you are up for one. If you can get your doc to write an order......pop over to Edward Heart Insititue in Naperville. Sounds like it could save one alot of hassle! For diagnositcs Edward has the best of everything in the area. State of the art. I feel real good being with them for my maintenance care. Surgery is another story. Hopefully I will not have to go there anytime soon.

Hey Gina,

Thanks...yep, I did see that..... But, I could be wrong, it just doesn't seem like something that can "solve" what needs to be done for me. I'll be going through an ablation...to actually burn off the "bad" parts. Perhaps I read the info wrong, but that "virtual catheterization" sounds as if it is used for diagnosis....vs. treatment....? Aye...I'm prolly wrong, very tired....
