Best surgeon in San Diego area?

I have added yet another surgeon to my choices: Walter Dembitsky. I met him today and he spent probably close to an hour talking to me and providing me with a ton of information. He reported that he does 2 to 4 mitral valve repairs a week. So the choice is between Demitsky and Stuart Jamieson who also has an excellent reputation and was listed in several national and international "listings" of best doctors...

Anybody know anything about either of these guys?

Add Dr. Michael Madani to that list. He only does Mitral Valve surgeries as far as I know and he saved my valve when everyone else said it needed to be replaced. He is a miracle worker as far as I am concerned.

I don't know anything about either one of them. Sorry. We didn't even look around here but trotted up to LA to consult with surgeons and are happy with our decision. But, the drive back and forth was tedious. I have seen at least a few other San Diego County residents on this site, at least two of which had surgery around these parts last year I think. Maybe you can search for their posts, maybe search "San Diego?"

Kristi, Try Dr. Scott Brewster in Scripps memorial in La Jolla. Mine and a friend of mine did replace our mitral valve 10 yrs. ago. Good luck.
