Hi, all--

Just poppin in for a few to share and ask...

Saw Dr. V on Friday; he wants to add digoxin to my daily dose of Multaq because my heart rhythm stuff isn't interesting enough/well-managed. I'm also getting hooked up to another event monitor (apparently another company that my insurance approves). Betcha that my heart will behave...again!

I joked with Doc that I "try to be a good patient" and follow his advice/take my meds as directed, to which he said, "You're the best patient." :biggrin2: I do my best! I still told him anyway that he needs to be my cardio until I'm 90. Haha!

Anyway...any experience here with digoxin? I faintly remember my mom telling me that I was on digoxin the first year of my life...guess we're going back to what works?

Thanks, all!

Debi

After my first 2 surgeries in 1975, my cardios put me on Lanoxin (digoxin, generic) and coumadin. I was on these 2 meds for about 25 years!

Then the cardio I had been with since then, retired & I had to start looking for a new one. Well, the new one I found, took me off the digoxin & the only explanation he gave me was that I didn't need it any longer! So what happens, a few months go by and one day my heart started racing & I ended up in the ER so they could perform a manual defibrillation! I was so mad at that stupid doctor for taking me off that med because I was sure that's what caused that episode! Shortly after that, I fired him!!!!

Here recently, digoxin was added back into my daily regimen of medications because I started showing signs of a-fib and I seem to be doing just fine with it. I have noticed no side affects & I never had side affects from it when I took it for all those years either.

I hope this med will solve your issues too! :)

I see that you had Dr. Vaugh Starnes. How is he? I might be transferred to the USC hospital this year because I am turning 21 so I cannot go to Children's hospital anymore.

Anyway...any experience here with digoxin?

Yep, but not recently. I haven't had to take digoxin for MANY years.

Thoughts/prayers coming your way, Debi....
