Hi all,
I am new here but have learned so much from this site - so thank you for the excellent information. I need some advice and will try to be concise in stating my history. For the past 6 years I have had increasing symptoms of PVC's, SOB, dizziness and presyncope. I have had a couple of near faintings while driving which really scared me (esp since I have 4 kids and am always carting them around)

I was diagnosed with PVC's and RVOT tachychardia for which I have had 2 ablations, the first in 03 which eliminated all symptoms for almost a year and a half. The symptoms came back even worse and I had a second ablation in 06 which was not successful at all. I was diagnosed with a BAV in Oct 06. While researching this site (esp the "other symptoms?" thread) I thought that I was finally finding the WHY to my symptoms. I have had almost all mentioned on the thread including fatigue, waking at night gasping for air and occasional chest pain/tightness. These symptoms do tend to come and go but I can find no rhyme or reason to them. I almost always get palpitations, SOB and dizziness when running but can have the same when I am doing nothing.

I was given beta blockers and flecainide and they either wiped me out or didn't suppress the symptoms. I have also tried a naturopathic regimen and it too worked for awhile then stopped

My echos show variability from time to time but there is no stenosis but trivial aortic insuffiency. Ascending aorta and sinotubular junctions are normal. Ejection fraction and signal averaged EKG are also normal. My blood pressure and cholesterol are low. I should add that I have always been active and fit, and I run, do yoga, play soccer, ski etc... So my present condition where I can not run for even 10 minutes without symptoms is pretty discouraging - I don't think my symptoms are because I am out of shape.

So, where do I go from here? Are there other tests that might give me further information? or, do I just learn to live with the fact that I am going to often have palpitations, SOB, and near fainting?? Any input is greatly appreciated?

Hi and welcome!
I am in your neck of the woods. I too have a BAV, which was replaced 1 1/2 years ago.
I had many symptoms you describe prior to surgery, including a severely insufficient aortic valve. I wouldnt ignor your symptoms. I think if you are having them, they could be for a reason. Sometimes, my anxiety made mine worse. Just know that there was something wrong with my heart, made/makes me anxious.

Sorry I dont have any real good advise for you.
Welcome to the site. :)

Hi there and welcome to the site -

I hate to answer because I don't know what to suggest; but I didn't want to see no comments offered back to you. (edit - I see you have another post now.) Have you researched the Bicuspid Foundation's website for information? I have also read here that some Valvers sent their information, including test stats, via email to various specialists around the country and got some feedback/recommendations. Maybe you need a second opinion, maybe with someone who specializes with your condition.

Also, what's going on with you is possibly not only related to your bicuspid; perhaps there are other heart or health issues. "Near fainting" is very serious and something you can't take chances with. I hope someone else will post and offer you more input.
