I know that failing to have a colonoscopy for those over 50 exposes us to the risk of polyps that should be removed but won't be discovered until it is too late.

For those on Warfarin there is some risk to undergoing the colonosopy procedure. Has anyone done a study as to how these two risks balance out? I was under the imprerssion that the incidence of colon cancer is quite low ( but with very serious possible consequences). Has anyone seen any studies as to how these risks balance out?

I don't think that there has been any study done.

One of the problems is that the perceived risk (by doctors) is probably higher than the actual risk.

Doctors fear bleeding, patients fear clotting.
