Finally seen the cardiologist yesterday, he thinks it's time to discuss surgical options since my atrium and ventricle have already started to dilate and he thinks my EF is really about 40%. He sends all his patients to Dr. Chitwood at East Carolina Vascular. Dr. Chitwood performed the nation's first total robotically assisted mitral valve repair surgery in 2000.
Bad news, I switched health insurance for next year to a HMO and can only to Georgia doctors. So I finally find a good dr. and I can't even go back to him. I mean I can but I will have to pay out of pocket.
So disappointing....
Guess I will call the office and see if he can refer me to someone over in Georgia, I hear there are some great folks at Emory.
