I am going in the hospital next thur for surgery on my back to relieve the pressure off the nerve. I have two rupture disks and a pinched nerve. They say this is no big deal but I looked the surgery up and it is a bigger deal than I thought. I have been sick for the last two weeks with a sinus infection and didn't think it was every going to go away. But thank God I am better now before this surgery .So keep me in your prayers.

Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well with your surgery.

Will Do,

Will Do,

Hi Sherrin, My mother just went through back surgery on Mar. 1. She's home now, and recovering pretty well. Already she says she can't believe how much better her upper back and shoulders feel, even though she had the surgery on her lower back.

I'm not sure if the procedure was similar to what you will have, (she had spinal stenosis, and they inserted some sort of stainless steel cage in her back) but she did go through a lot of pain the first couple of days after surgery.... :( They couldn't seem to find a pain relief drug that worked well on her.

It doesn't seem fair to me that someone should have to go through OHS and back surgery all in one lifetime....but I guess it could happen to me too...since my mother's condition is hereditary.

Good Luck, Sherrin...I'll definitely keep you in my prayers.

Thanks so much for your support and prayers. The surgery is called laminotomy. It is where they remove the part of the disk that is pressing on the the nerve. I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. What so great about the the web today is this hosp. and the last one my mother was is in they have a web. sight where you can send cards over the web. Isn't process great!!!!!!!! My surgery is at Nortons in downtown Lou.

Best of luck
