I know this is a tad bit late coming to ya, but "better late than never"...thus, a note to update you. At the end, you'll see a list of cruises I'll be at & some "road trip" weekends...let me know if you are in the area or want to see me sometime....

Can you believe we are a few days away from the 9-month anniversary (if you will) of my 3rd Open Heart Surgery (January 6, 2003)??!! Heh...& the Cubs are in the playoffs ;).

The catheterablation done Tuesday, September 30, to get rid of irregular heart beats that possibly resulted from that OHS, went well & worked great! I'll have a checkup on Thursday, November 6, to be sure.

The ablation was delayed from it's starting time because the hospital lab "lost" or "misplaced" (not exactly sure which) the results of my PT/INR results.... A few other "comedy of errors" got me a bit unsettled before the procedure started, but all worked out fine in the end. I'm told that I woke up asking if the Cubs had lost, when they hadn't even played the 1st playoff game yet.... If that isn't bad enough, I actually asked if my sister & her boyfriend were driving my former 2000 monte carlo LS to the hospital that same night...arg...LOL! I got home about 1p, Wednesday, October 1.

My pacemaker continues to have a projected life of just about less than a year due to the apparent scarring around the leads going into the heart. The pacemaker will most-likely be moved into the chest area (from the abdomin) with leads going directly into the veins (as opposed to the outside of the heart). It will be checked at my Nov 6 appt.

I'll still have the 24-hr urine test (no, I do not need to pee 24 hours straight...I just need to bottle whatever I pee for 24 hrs) in November to determine the current protein levels (relative to the scarring in the kidneys).

What a year! So many things going on in so little time...life is good :) On the ondeck circle for the rest of this year....

Hey Cort,
Glad to hear everthing went OK for you. Keep getting those checkups.

Sounds like you are running the wheels off those Monte Carlos, and having fun doing it.

Looking forward to meeting you at the reunion.

Have A Great Weekend!

Dave

Thank you, Dave :).

Oh yes...running those wheels :). Too bad that fun is about to end with something called winter....lol.

Will be cool meeting you at the reunion, too. Who knows...maybe I can take some people to see my "girls" sometime during that time :).

Tis good to hear about a postive outcome from the ablation. I think you should join me and try to stay as far away from the hospitals as we possibly can for a good long time to come. I wish we had that luxury anyway!

In case no one told you, winter is here already. Fall lasted a whole day this year and straight into winter. Be careful out there. ;)

Thank you, Ross...and I couldn't agree more about the hospital sentiment....heh...that'd be nice if we had that luxury.

*raises eyebrow*

(in best Arnold impression) ...

Whatcha ya talkin' about winter?

*frowns*

How dare you swear on these boards...I thought using "bad" language was, well, bad.... :) LOL!!!!!
