Hello everyone,
Just a quick stop in here to let ya'll know that my surgery for valve replacement
and repair of the aortic aneurysm went very well and I am back home and trying to find the driver of that big truck you all speak of.
It seems to have gone right over my shoulder blades a couple of times.
Everything is doing good right now, eating well, trying to get comfortable for sleep has not been easy though. Thank God for recliners!!!
Thanks for all your support and well wishes and I will be back soon to fill you in on more.

Take Care

Kevin

Welcome home! I remember the truck! Gotta catch that crazy driver. I hope you are feeling better every day and "bump free". Looking forward to hearing from you when you feel better.

You sound Glad to be Home and in Good Spirits.
Having a Positive Attitude is a Major Contributor to a Good Recovery.

MANY of our members reported sleeping in their recliners, sometimes for several weeks, until their sternums were mostly healed.

And MANY report sleeping for short periods, typically about 3 hours at a time, and taking LOTS of NAPS!

For sore muscles, most of us have found that MASSAGE works far Better and Faster than Pain Pills. A vibrating Disk Massager can be used by just about anyone to relieve those tight / sore muscles, especially those long ones going from top to bottom on the back.

Let us know how you are doing as you progress.

Best Wishes for a smooth recovery.

Welcome Home Kevin, glad you are doing well and all went as planned. Rest easy.

Welcome back... the first few days home are comforting. Enjoy the "down" time and go slow. Looking forward to the updates. Good luck for a smooth and easy recovery.

Home is just soooo much better than hospital. Very glad that you are this far in the recovery process.

Also slept for only a few hours every night for about 2 weeks. Just take more naps during the day.

I am now 5 month's post op and the pain under my right shoulder blade all of a sudden appeared again with a vengence yesterday after some antics on my sailing boat. Better today after wearing a Flurbiprofen anti-inflamatory patch for a day.

So yes it takes time to heal, sometimes longer than we think or like.
