Hi Everyone

Bill and I got home yesterday ( Friday ) from our motorcycle trip,
and what a trip it was,we rode over 6000 miles and 12 states and only hit around 50 miles of rain during the 5 weeks !!!!
Lucky or what

Words cannot describe the wonderful sights we saw,the USA is a great place you are all so lucky to live there, we also met some really great people

I hope everyone is keeping fine ( I am trying to read the past posts )

Is the chat still happening on Sunday ?

On our way to O'Hare airport we went by Manneheim where the Reunion hotel is located,I wish I could join you all for the reunion but after 5 weeks in the USA it is impossible,

We did a city tour of Chicago on an open top bus on our last day ( the bikes had been loaded for the return ) and it was excellent value at $20 pp
It allowed you to get on on off at all the locations, Art Institute Science Museum, Navy Pier to name a few.

Chicago is a place we will visit again

Keep Smiling

Jan

Sounds like an awesome trip! I always enjoy traveling by car because there is so much you miss in the air. I live in Missouri and several years ago went to California. We traveled the northern route there.......Utah, Montana......I loved Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. On the return trip, we did the southern route....Grand Canyon. We were gone about 3 weeks total and it was a beautiful trip! We stayed with friends in Los Angeles, and really didn't see much of the state of California. I really want to go back and spend time touring that state.
As far as touring on a motorcycle, my cardiologist told me after surgery, while discussing the risks of Coumadin, that everything should be fine as long as I didn't do anything stupid like take up motorcycle riding! My daughter's fiance is a firefighter/EMT, and once the proud owner of a motorcycle. After working several years as a firefighter, and seeing too many accidents involving motorcycles, he sold his! I think motorcycle riding would be great to try once, but I am too chicken to take it up permanently!

Happy cycling!

Jan, sounds like your trip was wonderful. I am so glad you could see so much of our country. It is so big and even we can never see it all...

My daughter and her husband have a cycle, bought earlier this year, and they enjoy riding/traveling on it. My daughter is new to it, so her husband is enjoying introducing her to all of the pleasures of biking.

Hey Jan,
Glad you all had a safe and wonderful trip. I am sorry we did not get to meet in Sterling. Thanks for the email. Maybe in 2005 we can meet. Again glad to hear you are home safe and sound. Don't forget the Chat Sunday. Take Care:cool:

Hey Jan,

Sounds like you had a grand time ;). Glad to know it :).

Sorry we didn't get to meet up when you were in IL, but it sounds like you were quite busy :).

Hi Jan,

Glad you and Bill had such a wonderful time in the USA. Now you can understand why I love living here and why it is so different from Europe. Once you have lived here you never want to go back, only for short visits.
I wouldn't see the country on a motor cycle though. I am a big chicken, but I hear of terrible accidents here too, and the motor cycle always loses.
I won't be able to join you on the chat until after 3PM probably. Have a meeting to go to at 12 noon (PST), and that will last approx. 2-3 hours. Hopefully you won't get too tired and will wait for me.

Thanks for the welcome back.

Yes it was a great trip. now its time to try and get back into a routine,
The bags are all unpacked, the washing done ( the ironing will be done tomorrow)

I will log into the chat later
