Hi All of you. My daughter's (Shya) appointment with the peadiatric cardiologist is on Sunday the 12th of September. He will do and echo to check on the asd she has. I pray that all is alright. The last thing i want is bad news after all that has happened lately.

I still havent had the report on Nish from the surgeon. Rand him and he did say thay the labs are still doing research on his tissue samples. Its been almost 3 months. Would it take so long? Has anyone had any similar experience( I hope Not)?

Lots of Love to you all
Bess

I'll keep my fingers crossed

I'll keep my fingers crossed

Hi Bess, I'm happy to see that you're managing to lead a fairly normal life despite all you've been through. I wish you and your wee girl good luck on Sunday, and I'll remember the two of you in my prayers. By the way, just out of curiosity, why on Sunday? I didn't think doctors saw patients at the weekend unless it was urgent. Take care of yourselves.

Bess,
Here's hoping everything looks good at the appointment. Please let us know what is determined.

Hi Bess,

We will be praying right along with you that everything is alright with your littile one. You are so brave.

As for it taking so long with the surgeon, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. If you are up to putting some pressure on him, the additional pressure will probably help move things along. But if you just don't have it in you, then lay low and the results will come when they come.

Hang tight and take good care of yourself.

Hi Bess,
All the best on Sunday, I'll be thinking of you and Shya.
As for Nish's lab results taking so long, I have no idea if that's standard testing time. Did the surgeon tell you how long he expected the results to take? It must so be hard waiting for the reports to come back.
Keep us posted,
take care,
Yolanda (Chris' wife)

Bess,
Good luck and best wishes for Sunday.
It may be as Melissa says with regards to the results on Nish. No idea what kind of tests they'll be doing - could it be something that takes a few weeks/months to do? Or perhaps simply that we don't pay for our healthcare so we get it when we get it unless we're really pushy?
Gemma.

Baby is Fine

Baby is Fine

Hey all. Yesterday i had the burden lifted off me. Shya is absolutly fine and her hole has filled up. The cardiologist checked her valves as well as i told him all about Nish. He was alot more thorogh with the echo. I am so relieved. As for Nish's report, they have said it will take time as they have very few labs in the country to carry out specific tests on thetissue samples.
Will let you all know.
thanks for being there for me. you guys are great.

By the way, this cardiologist works in three hospitals Sundays is when he find best to do consultations for babies making it easier for workin parents.
Lots of Love
Bess

what a relief!

what a relief!

Dear Bess, I'm so happy for you and Shya, and I hope you can finally find the peace you so much deserve now. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity regarding appointments on Sundays. It's great that you have this option there. Take care,

Débora

I'm trying to remember, did she have a VSD or ASD? Either way, that is great news to hear the hole has closed on its own! :)

I was born with a large VSD. It got smaller as I got older but never closed, and eventually it caused my aortic valve prolapse and insufficiency/regurgitation.

Bryan,
she had and ASD. I know it is quite common but was worried as my husband's holes never filled up. He had two. One was an ASD the other i dont know. could be an VSD. i dont know how many kinds there are. Do you?

Bess,

As far as I know those are the only types I have heard of (atrial and ventricular septal defects).

if those are the two kinds then my husband had both of them. They closed both up during the first surgery and then one opened up ( i assume it is the VSD that opened again. The surgeon did say that it is quite rare for some one two have 2 of those.
