Please remember my family in your prayers. My precious little aunt who had lung cancer surgery died this morning around 7:00 a.m. She had been on life support for about two weeks. She had been moved to a hospital that specialized in getting people off of the vent, but when the doctor was putting in a port he punctured her other lung. It wasn't long and she was gone. Bless her heart, she had suffered way too long. This made my husband and me sit down with our kids and talk to them about respecting our "Living Will" wishes, to never start us on life support, ever! !

To say the least we are mentally and physically drained. What a Father's Day! But, she is not suffering or hurting any more. She has joined with all her family at a wonderful reunion in the sky. She was the last of my husband's dad's family to go.

I'm teribly sorry!

I am so sorry Glenda...

I am so sorry Glenda...

You have my utmost sympathy and prayers. I am hoping that you have the strength to forgive those who went against your aunt's wishes. Your in my heart and prayers as always. :( :D :( Harrybaby666

Although I wonder about the doctor (at a facility specializing in getting people off vents) managing to puncture her lung, maybe he actually did her a favor.

I remember how sad you were when your dear aunt was put in this situation and know she is now at peace. Maybe God felt there was some more attention needed to the Living Will issues out there and asked your aunt to help. I am sure her last few weeks will contribute to your family making sure your wishes are known (and a few of us here as well).

I will pray that your family is able to handle her loss with hope and love.

Dear Glenda, I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. My deepest sympathy to all her family.

talk about God guiding the surgeon's hands! She chose one of the most glorious days we have seen this year for her leavetaking. At 7 a.m. at our house it was 60 degrees, the sun was shining and sky was beautiful. Don't you know she loved her Father's Day celebration with her father - both of them. You will miss her, but it was time to go and she knew that. I am sorry she was delayed in her journey and that she had to suffer longer than she ought but there was a reason for that, too. Bless you all. I am glad you had her for a long time.

I am sad for you that she has gone, but relieved to hear that her suffering is now just a fast-fading memory. Remember, it was a very short time in terms of her whole life, and now she is free.

Your family will be in my thoughts, Glenda.

Be well,

Hey Glenda,
You have my condolences, and you and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care

Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the kind wishes and the continued prayers. She had always requested that my husband and I sing at her funeral. I've just tried going over the songs "How Great Thou Art" and "Because He Lives" and I'm still crying as I type this. She was so precious to me and I'm going to miss her so much although I know she is in such a better place. This is the first time that I have really let myself cry since she had got so bad and went on life support. Let's pray that I can get this out of my system before the funeral on Wednesday. We have sang at many friends and our family funerals and somehow God always brings us through it. We may fall apart right after we sing but we have always finished.

We have another funeral to go to this afternoon. Boy, when it rains it pours. This is a little lady that used to go to our church. She was 88 and had been sick for some time. It seems that death comes one right after the other three times in a row. I wonder who is going to be next?

I'm sorry that you lost your beloved Aunt. I don't have the kind of voice that anyone would ever invite me to sing for anything so I've never had to be concerned about being able to get through singing for a loved one's funeral. I will pray that you will be a blessing to those who hear you though regardless if you have some tears during the song or not.

Glenda,
I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but as you always say,
"She won."
You need your time to grieve, but you will make it through the service. You're one of the strongest women I've ever "met."
Love,
Mary

"God always brings us through it."

And HE will this time, too. Those two songs are some of the most beautiful ones I ever heard. She will truly enjoy hearing them. Bless you.
