As I understand it, this valve was designed by the same guy who designed the St. Jude valve, but with improvements on hemodynamics and sound (it's much quieter). So far I love the valve, and I'm glad to see some clinical study data is coming out for it.

Hope to see the data published in a journal article soon.

Patty my surgeon for aortic valves favoured ATS if the ascending aorta required replacement as they are available with a factory attached graft and used On-X valves on patients that didn't require a graft. I have posted previously on a Belgium heart centre using a lower INR on certain patients with an ATS aortic valve. INRs however should only be varied under the guidance of your doctor.

I like my ATS's, they have kept me alive AND they are quiet.
