Just wondering how all of you have faired now that there are no more analog broadcasts of TV channels.

Haven't noticed a difference. Glad its done so I don't have to hear about it on the TV anymore. LOL

we have directv plus local stations we can't get via satellite. we have a bunch of stuff on directv but hardly anything worth watching. we now have a bunch of new stations via our antenna coming through on our kinda new tv but they get messed up - sometimes there, sometimes not - or messed up picture on some of them. our tv found 38 of them but all of them say 'no program available'. duh.......... still not much to watch. so we play games on computers.

Our last local channel to go digital happened on Fri. We were entirely confident because we have DirecTV; however, immediately we had that annoying message over & over that we needed to contact whomever. After about an hour another message came on which indicated the problem was DirecTV's so we didn't contact anyone, just waited. Sure enough all is fine now.

We did have to buy a different antenna in addition to the converter box for our one & only TV in the house that isn't on DirecTV. For some reason we have 4 TVs for 2 people.

Time Warner Cable has gotten to expensive for me and I have to make some tough choices. I'm looking at ways to keep my internet through them and perhaps phone also, but this ridiculous price on the cable tv has got to go.

Time Warner is soooo expensive. WARNING: if you get the phone service and yourcalbe goes out.......no phone. We had it happen to many times. I will welcombe u-verse when it comes!

I agree with Time Warner and their high prices. Plus they advertise that there are so, so many channels. then when you look at them they are the same stations over and over--What's up with that???

Most of the time I barely watch TV at all. The shows are dreadful. When the food channel is one of the more interesting ones, you know that something needs to be done about TV entertainment.

I hate all these reality shows, they are so staged.

And you can only watch Law and Order, CSI Las Vegas, and NCIS reruns so many times.

The Mentalist is fun though.

Exactly! The digital tier is nothing more then what you get on expanded basic, but you pay for it. Why are we paying for double programming? And they can't understand why their losing customers at an alarming rate.

Do yo know the real reason (or any) why they have switched to digital
or nothing?..I mean I'm so sure that they really care how clear and sharp
our TV's are while we are watching Family Guy:rolleyes:

Dina, it's really not helping those of us who want to use an Antenna and watch TV for "free". Heaven forbid.
Some american PBS channels that I used to watch with a bit of a fuzzy picture, now either come in crystal clear or not at all.
(depending on the weather, sun, and moon) ;)

keep the internet and check this site wwitv.com, this may not give all the channels but will help may be...

I used to use this site in US to watch Indian channels ;-)

Bahlvrun, I am going to check it right now.

we have lost nbc altogether. it was on Friday evening when the switch was made but the picture would come and go. it finally went and hasn't come back. the stations that our search found have nothing on them at all so don't know why the tv selected them (all local). we have cbs, abc, pbs and one or two local channels. plus all the directv junk - yes, Nancy, I agree with you. we watched Monk yesterday some and there were old shows that had been on in the beginning that we had missed.

daytime, I watch The View, gma and cnn.
