I am sitting in my condo in Tarpon Springs, Florida watching the storms outside. The weather has been horrendous since my sister and I arrived in Florida on Sunday. We were stuck for hours in a building at Epcot during a huge and strong thunderstorm on Monday. Every day has been storms after storms.

So, I apologize to anyone living here for bringing the crummy weather with me. I will be leaving the state on Sunday so you can be assured it will clear up then.

Hope everyone else is having good weather.

I am signing off for awhile so the computer doesn't get zapped.

Fun in the no-sun in Florida.

Hi Gina...

Hi Gina...

I wouldn't worry about apologizing, as alot of places are getting strong storms...We have been getting them right and left here in New Hampshire today and a father and son in the town of Farmington, NH got struck with lightening a couple of hours ago, so I don't think that you brought the weather with you...it's just happening all over the place....Harrybaby   :D :D

Please send storms my way. We're in a drought situation in SE MO.
Thanks-

All I can say is that a few thunderstorms are preferable to hurricanes...had enough of those last year.

Did a triathlon on Lido Key here in Sarasota last weekend. We've been having a lot of red tide and they had to clean all the dead fish off the beach before we started the swim. Had to dodge a couple of dead 3'-4' red fish during the swim. Of course the good news is that the red tide keeps the sharks away...

Mark,

Is that a Corvette in your avatar picture or is the angle misleading?

There have been some shark sightings in the Pinellas area as well as the attacks in the Panhandle area. I guess the red tide is sending them north.

Mary,

I sure wish I could send this rain to you. We drove through some really bad roadway floods today. It was raining so hard the drain were just useless. There have been a couple of weather related deaths around this area so I am trying to stay safe.

Not all of Florida is wet. We have beautiful weather - we have the sharks Mark talked about. 30 mi south of me is where the 14 y.o. was attacked and Cape San Blas is about 2 hrs east of us.

The steady rain is most unusual for the southern part of Florida. I grew up in Miami. The rains would come, stay maybe 1/2 hr and the sun came out. This year's rains are steady and 24 hr events (or weeklong events). Something really strange happening. Sorry for your ruined vacation.

Yep, a fellow Corvette enthusiast sent me the picture of a new C6 Corvette parked next to a Blue Angel F-18. Thought it was very

Mark,

I thought so. My S/O has a 1996 Corvette Grand Sport convertible. It is wonderful but I don't drive it because it is a manual transmission. I can drive a manual but it makes it too much to think about when driving such an expensive car. I used to drive the automatic 1986 Corvette he had before some idiot decided he needed it more than Chris and stole it in the middle of the night.

I did not initially see the Blue Angel in the avatar but the combination is fabulous.

I was in San Francisco a few years back during fleet week. The Blue Angels did a run through the buildings and over the ocean. They were astounding to see and something I will never forget.
