Aortic Stenosis and Bleeding events

A study done in 2003 seems to show that aortic stenosis itself can cause unexpected bleeding events, without the help of anticoagulants:

We often concern ourselves with clotting, but not with bleeding events before surgery.

That's really interesting Bob - prior to his diagnosis, Jim suffered with serious nosebleeds for years (doctors put it down to a weak blood vessel in his nostril which was cauterised at least once) and he says that after his tonsillectomy (aged 24 I think) he bled a lot.
Kind of makes you wonder why they didn't look a bit further for an explanation... Water under the bridge now though.
