Hi every1
Sorry i have not been in touvh recently, but i have been progressing @ a miraculous rate. I have now been workin for 3 months & have been goin 2 gym 2x wk for last 4 months. I hope every1 is all ok & i send my love & best wishes 2 u all.

As u may remember I recently underwent a Ross Proceedure last october @ the QE in Birmingham (England), the operation was a complete success & produced miraculous results & i am now progressing incredibly well. However when i went to see my cardiologist 2 wks ago i was told that my aortic root had grown slightly in diameter(was aware of it prior to surgery but did not prevent my surgeon carrying out the ross). Although the root has not yet reached a concernable diameter(4cm)i am due to have an MRI in Nov and the possibility of further surgery in the future was mentioned.

I know that all that is very much in the future & not to be thought about at present because @ the moment i am in good nick & feelin v positive & upbeat. However it just came as a surprise considering the success of my op & would like to hear from anyone who has any info on this topic (including MRI`s).

Take Care
Lots of Love
Si xx

Can't help you on the question you have asked, but surely can say how nice it is to hear from you. We missed you and are happy to know all is going well. God bless

hi simon!
so glad to hear that you are progressing at an incredible rate. good for you!
thank God, joey is doing well too. we had a real scare a few months ago. we thought that joey's new av was leaking severely (according to the 6 month echo). when a tee was done, however, we found out that it was a mild leak and that there was another leak (a fistula) coming from an artery elsewhere, but the surgeon and cardio both felt it was nothing and inconsequential. they will watch it and if needed it is easily corrected (by cath).
joey and i were very nervous, especially because i've been reading a lot on this site about many rp's gone awry. many leaks and redo's necessary. we are so fortunate not to be among them. how awful.
what tests determined that your root has grown? echo? did he say why he thought this was happening? was this your cardio or the surgeon?
are you feeling any different? symptoms? what they often end up doing is keeping an eye on things and watching for symptoms to appear.
hopefully this will come to a halt and it will not continue to grow in diameter.
please let us know what is going on and what the dr's say. i'm sorry i couldn't help more, but i'm sure someone will come forward with more info and help.
take care and be well, sylvia
