Hey Gina,
Thanks for the information. My surgeon told me that is what was about to happen with my aneurysm.

Like I said in the other thread, It was one experience that I hope I never have to go through again. Unbelievable pain.

Thanks for posting the info, I knew what it was, but I wasn't sure what caused it, and I have AHA on my favorites too, but thanks for doing the leg work.

Aortic Dissection

Praise God! I also lived to talk about my aortic dissection. I have Marfan Syndrome so knew that I had to get to a hospital immediately. Thank God that I was only a mile away from one of the best cardiac surgeons and hospitals in the world. The pain was undescribable! But it does attack out of no where. For me, there were no warnings. Just BAM, undescribable pain.

I feel you all that survived a dissection were incredibly lucky!
When my surgeon went in to repair my aneurism my aorta fell apart in his hand. I was pretty close to dissection, and that was a scary thought.
Poor John Ritter and his family. What a way to go for such a funny guy.

He sure was well-spoken of by all the interviewers and interviewed. That's quite an amazing thing in that town. Has anyone heard the specific cause of his dissection? It was a very sad thing to hear about.

And for Gail in CA -

I haven't read your story; what did you have/what happened to you, and what was the size of your aorta/aneurysm? Do you have a Dacron graft? It sounds like your surgery was just in the nick of time! Do you feel much better now? Best wishes,

~Susan (in CA)
