We just rented it today. I don't want to give away the plot, but one of the characters has heart trouble. I would recommend it to anyone, (the movie, not heart trouble,) but I think a few of us will especially appreciate that character -- and his mom!

I've never seen or heard of that one GLORY ROAD. It sounds good!!!
But does it make you cry? I have such a hard time not getting emotional with those tear jerker movies.

Glory Road is the true story of the 1955 NCAA Basketball Champions from Texas Western -- the first all-black starting lineup in the NCAA. I didn't personally find it a tear-jerker. However, if you don't like basketball, you may find it a sedative! There is a LOT of basketball playing. Fortunately, my daughter and I like basketball.

Another good thing about the movie is that, since they needed to follow actual historical events, it doesn't have a predictable plot. If a Hollywood screenwriter were make up this kind of story, I could probably recite it before he wrote it. In this case, they have had to dispense with a lot of plot cliches.

(Unfortunately, they did not have to dispense with dialogue cliches!)
