Hi Everyone,

I just found out my next project will require me flying to Germany and staying for 2 weeks each month over the coming year. I'll be working near Cologne, and staying in Siegburg.

Just thought I would check and see if anyone from the site lives around there. I have never been to Europe before and find this to be an exciting and adventurous opportunity for me. I am searching the net for some information reagrding the area I will be in and thought I would check to see if anyone here may know of the area.

Wishing you all good health,
Rob

Rob, that's so exciting. I hope you have a wonderful time. How long will you be there? See, enjoy and learn all you can Then tell us?

Hope someone can tell you where to visit, etc.

I don't know anything about the area but I just wanted to wish you much fun. It sounds like a very exciting opportunity.

Hi Ann and Gina,

Thanks for the replies. It looks like the project will go on through most of the year, and will require me to fly over on a Sunday night, and stay through the following week, returning on either a Thursday or Friday. That will give me a whole weekend every time I go over to explore.

I really am excited about it.. My only cautions are concerning my health. I am so glad that I have a home testing unit. I'll test prior to flying over, and again when I return. If I do have to stay longer, I'll just take it with me.
I usually test every week, but will be fine going to bi-weekly testing schedule.

Other than that, the only other concern is that I have been having A-Fib and A-Flutter bouts on rare occasions over the last year. Funny thing is, they mostly occur after I have had "Too" good a time while on vacation or over a holiday. Guess I will just not try to have "too" good a time while over there. :) Usually, I am able to come out of them without having to take a trip to the ER. The good news is, is that the company I work for has good coverage, and participates in SOS International, which is a medical assistance service. That gives me somewhat of a comfort zone.

I'll be sure to drop an occasional post while over there and let you know how I am doing.

Ya know... I took 2 years of German while I was in College back in 1968. Now.. if I can only remember it... personally.. I don't blame it on old age.. I blame the Heart/Lung bypass machine during my surgery.

So... for now... Auf Wiedersehen....

Rob

Sounds like fun....

Take care, hope you had a good time on the cruise !!

Gotta run.
