Hi,
I'm new to this site, and really am enjoying it's information.
I have had mitral valve problem diagnosised since 2002, and recently have become short of breathe especially on stairs. I have spoken and set up an appointment with University of Maryland Heart center with Dr. James Gammie, if all goes well with testing surgery will be on the 24th of this month. Anybody had repair by him using the Da Vinci method. The UMHC has a great website, and the people I have spoken to there have been very helpful.

Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna and welcome to the forum.

This is more of welcome then anything. It's kind of slow on the weekends here, but give it some time and others will be along shortly to perhaps answer this.

Browse around, use the search function, ask questions. Not too much we can't tell you. :)

Did you ever see this webcast with Dr. Gammie from a year ago? http://www.or-live.com/umm/1151/. It is very interesting. Also, I've asked Dr. Gammie questions on his website and he always responds within a few days. He seems great. Good luck to you!!

Yes, thank you Barry I have, and he has also taken time out of his day to call.
