I had my 2nd OHS two years ago to replace my first mechanical valve (lasted 20 yrs, born with congenital heart defect).
My first valve was great, I could hear the ticking but it feel much smoother. This new one has felt weird since I got it. It feels like it kicks and thumps hard in my chest.
I met with my cardiologist & he said my heart is fine. He said it's bc the valve is in the front of the heart & closer to the breast bone that I can feel it.
My first valve (1988) was a St. Jude valve & this one is an On-X.
Anyone else have this experience and how did you handle it?
