One of the things that my surgeon will be doing is a subclavian artery cannulation for the cardiopulmonary bypass machine. This way he will have better/easier access to repair ascending aortic aneurysm.

Just wanted to run it by the group.

a few people here have had that them, they often use that for min invasive surgeries. Justin knew there was a possibility they would use another spot for the bypass for his 4th and 5th OHS. they checked his subclavian and femoral arteries/veins during pre-op. He told the surgeon if there was a choice he rather have his done at the groin, so there was 1 less visible scar. they didn't not need that access for his 4th but did for his 5th. his only complaint was the area was it was a little painful the first few days and part of his thigh was numb fora few weeks.

Deleted - After I wrote my reply I realized it was not relevant. :) - My experience pertained to the subclavian vein, not artery. Wish they had a delete option here.
