When i go into shops, i have been giving them too much money. Luckily they have give it me back.
I lost my bank card and my husband found it in the fridge today, lol i still can't beleive i did that.
I work in a hotel and it is like i have just started again as i keep forgeting to put the odd thing on the trays.
Any one have any tips.

I've had days like that. It's distraction and just signs of stress. When I found myself not concentrating on what I was doing at the moment, I had to keep saying to myself, "focus down, focus down, focus down". Then I really take a good look at what I am doing.

It's good to remember that you cannot have two thoughts in your mind at the same time. So, if you are thinking about medical things, you are not thinking about the task at hand.

It's a matter of discipline for your mind.

I remember this stage...realising you are doing it is quite a shock too...I tried to make a conscious effort to remember to check everything twice...that way hopefully I checked once and or paid attention in the first place.

Man, I still have those days.
Try to slow down and focus at the job at hand, and take your time doing it.
Granted, when your working and speed maybe an asset - you may just have to stop and say "wait a minute - hold on here" and take a step back and re-focus.

I hope this made sense.......I wish you luck.

Oh, I hated that time! I wish I had some words of wisdom, but mostly I just accepted it and tried to realize that I had every right to be scared. That being said, all of your worrying isn't going to change anything - which is much easier said than done.

My thoughts are with you...

Saturday night we went to a black tie dinner celebrating a neighbours 60th birthday. Birthday womans husband Barry gave an amusing speech. One of his themes was Irenes money indiscipline. He told us she had lost her credit card several weeks ago; he hadn't reported it to the police as the thieves were spending less with it than Irene. :D :D

I'm too distracted to read the other replies ;) :D ...

But I was in a shop recently and saw a game designed to improve memory, which I think could also help with concentration.

I read an article a few years ago about "information overload" and I think that is part of my problem, with concentration difficulties. Sometimes there is too much information coming in for me to organize and sort through mentally. I have to make lists and keep a calendar to schedule various things out and that helps me.

One of my sons faced a sudden and critical health situation over a decade ago and I began a journal--a necessity to keep track of different insurance and medical personnel I spoke to on which date in which office and at which phone number--and it soon turned into a more personal journal as I began to express descriptions and personal feelings. I think that helped me to focus and categorize things better in my mind. I think I ended up with five or six spiral notebooks of it all...

You and Curt have my very best wishes :) .
