I checked out, actually posted to, the Beginner's Forum on Runner's World. I was pleasantly surprised at the welcome I received. Do we have any valve replacement members who are on it? I posted that I had valve replacement, but the replies were all supportive.
Just curious!:D :D :D

I used to, Mary. I found it a great resource when I was training for a marathon. Much like VR.com, actually, in that there were lots of people with pertinent experience who were very happy to share as well as folks to lend support and to commiserate.

Yep, I lurk there a lot and post occasionally, mostly in the Training and Beginner forums. I'm "Redcorvette" over there. Lots of useful info & advice.

I also spend a lot of time at BeginnerTriathlete.com and lurk at the Bicycling Magazine forums.

In the past couple of months I've spent less and less time here and done more lurking than posting. Probably because I've "moved on" somewhat in my life since my AVR, plus due to some nasty private messages I got from another "respected" member who disagreed with one of my opinions. Life is too short and precious to put up with that kind of aggravation. :(

P.J. and Mark,

I'm glad that I found the site and thought that other VR members would probably be familar with it. I especially like the "dailies" in the beginner's forum. It's motivating to read what others are doing on a day to day basis.

Mark,
I agree that life is too short to have to deal with junk on a forum. If I want
aggravation, I have five children that I can always turn to!:p :p

Mary,
I asked about other valvers one time on Runners World and got no answers. I lurk now and then. I check out posts about PF and White Rock.

Mark,
Please hang around. I appreciate your participation.

Tom,
I waited until my second post to mention my valve replacement.;) The replies all said to go slow but stick with it. I hope to. My long term goal is to be on a VR relay team.:)

I was planning on joining something like that given running is my weak leg. Ive "lurked" also at Beginnner triathlete and like other members have said their community is generally pretty supportive with some knowledgeable people to offer training advice.

MarkU - ditto to Tom's comment. You (and your stories) were one of the inspirations on my recovery trail over a year ago so you are a valued member in my book and valued by many others on this forum. So please hang around.
