antideppressants side effects for heart pt

I have tried to go on prozac etc for some deppression and always seem to have the same side effects insomnia, bloating , incresed heart rate and SOB. I have gained 10 pounds with out changing diet and feel like I retain water when I go off with in 8-12 weeks I seem to lose it , anyone else had this problem?hfk

I was on Zoloft for a year before my surgery and went back on after surgery for anxiety and depression. I had a valve replacement and doesn't seem to be interfering with anything at this point. I quit smoking at the time of the surgery so the med has really helped. Hope you find something that agrees with you.

It is claimed that Zoloft does not have the same problems as Prozac for heart patients.

I can't take Prozac tried it during a really rough time about 10 yrs ago( lost several family members in a very short time). It made me like a zombie. I am on wellbutrin and I don't seem to have any problems. My sob and water retention has been since surgery actually before. I am now trying to lower my sodium even more then the 3 grams trying 2 grams now.
