Has anyone found themselves alergic to warfarin and changed there anticoag drug?
I found myself in this position. Whilst on warfarin I felt every unwell plus stomach tentions etc and then moved to Acenocoumorol (otherwise known as Sinthrome) I was eventually on this for around 18 months without any really terrible side effects. However, on restarting Sinthrome I have found myself feeling generally unwell plus stomach probs etc. However, the condition has become somewhat more acceptable. I find that 3mg a day keeps me very stable at my target of 2.5. I am however, wondering if I should switch to Phenindione which I have used in the past without any noticable side effects - though it makes your urine pink.

Yep I'm at present in the UK. I would change to Phenindione but it would doubtless mean a downtime from my target INR of 2.5 and I am thinking of maybe having a cardio ablation in the next few weeks or indeed month. Also not withstanding the fact that several years ago I was able to take Phenindione without any effects this time around this may not be the case. My INR was not as stable as on my present Sinthrome.
There is no easy answer -I am at present just sitting on my hands
This is not fortuneately a usual occurrence and most people can take warfarin without a problem.
