I am lucky to have a Dermatologist, who knows I take coumadin, and never ask me to go off it.:) ..Last year, he zapped 3 spots and today, he shaved a mole off my scalp.and zapped a red spot on my cheek. No bleeding from the mole being shaved.:) ..just a little sting from the Lanocane? shot.:p I have had 2 basal cell cancers in the past..and had them removed surgery (before my taking coumadin)so, better to catch those questionable moles, ect. early. Both of my basal cell cancers were on my face. One under my nose flap and one close to my eye. ........Bonnie

Bonnie-

Glad your derm is on top of things. Joe has had both basal and squamous skin cancers, small ones, and easily taken care of. I don't see any recurrances.

So nice to get rid of those things.

I think now..that most Dermatologist's..are doing the Moh,s surgery? My daughter just had a basal cell cancer removed from her ear...a few months back. It takes all day. I went down and sat with her..they take a little off at a time. then you sit in room.with many others..while they test if they get it all.. takes several times..they even have refreshments in the room.:) I saw many with bandages on their ears, nose, ect.:D while waiting...why, I say, get those little things checked early. Saves a lot of time ..if they grow. Bonnie

I had the Moh's surgery on the side of my nose about 4 years ago, Bonnie. Luckily, he only had to go in once, but it was not fun and took a long time to heal- not something I want to do again! Have also had basal cell taken off my arm. Too many years in the sun. I now try to swim in the morning in FL and then don't go to the pool until after 3 PM armed with plenty of sunscreen.

I had a squamous cell taken off my head three weeks ago. I was the last patient of the day. It was about 5:15 when they were using the electric needle to cauterize (burn) it to slow the bleeding. The nurse said, "That smell of smoke and blood makes me hungry for barbecue".
