Hi Lon, I don't have any personal experience with the drug but recently ran into a friend (in her 80s) we had not seen for a long time and she was telling us that she had it done and the macular specialist was astounded with the results. She had been his blue ribbon patient, having received the best outcome he had ever seen. I think it is only used on the "wet" type if I remember correctly. My husband is legally blind now, has had several laser treatments when his was wet but that was before they came out with this new drug.

The thought of having a needle put into your eye doesn't sound too great but the results are well worth it if you are one of the ones who get the return of their sight.

Best wishes to your wife! Hope it works for her!
