Just got back from the hospital while ago. Got there at 8:00 this morning and left at 8:00 this evening. The procedure was a breeze but they found a blockage in one of my arteries. They are going to make me an appointment to talk to my cardiologist to discuss the results of this test. They are also making me an appointment to go talk to a surgeon. I have to stay here because of insurance. I will go to Ochsner Hospital. The surgeon that I am going to talk to was recommended by my cardiologist. He was at Cleveland Clinic as an associate (whatever that is). It sure looks lioke I am heading for surgery.
As for the procedure, I did not feel a thing, not when they numbed my groin or anything else. After the happy juice. I was very relaxed but awake ..I am not sure if I was awake the whole time.I have no soreness or anything.
After a while, they put up the head of my bed and gave me a pillow. That made all the difference in the world. I could use the edge of the lunch table tray that rolls over the bed to lean my book on and READ!!!
Oh, and I learned why God gave me 5 fingers on my hand. It is to eat baked chicken lying flat on your back with only a spoon as a utensil.

Glad that everything went OK and you had no pain. Good luck with your appointment with the surgeon. Just a suggestion, write down all the quetions that come to your mind and bring the list with you. As the surgeon answers them. write down his answer. You can read them back when yhou get home. I find that very helpful and was suggested to me by a doctor years ago

Praline,
Glad the procedure went ok for you painwise, comfortwise & resultswise. In addition to writing down your questions & then the answers, it's really helpful if you can have someone go with you. Sometimes, as patients, our heads are spinning and the presence of a friend or family member will help to preserve some of the information we miss. Of course, a tape recorder would do the job too, but it won't hold your hand or give you a hug.:(
