I may be in need of a kick in the pants. I got scared about 6 weeks ago because I had, within a 4 day span, two episodes that felt like what I have always heard about angina. Now I have an upcoming appt. for tests including my very first stress test ever, and am very tempted to cancel because since then I have felt FINE. I should go anyway, huh? Does anyone else have angina and is it related to valve disease or maybe just something separate. I had a St. Jude mitral 4 years ago and have been doing great. Oh, and I did name my valve. I name everything, my Honda is named YOlanda. I settled on Fido for my valve, because it is very faithful. Every morning I wake up to hear good old Fido.

*KICK* You should tell your doctor about the pain - if there is a suspicion you're having angina, you shouldn't hop on a treadmill without them knowing about it. Perhaps you've already told the doc and that's why the stress test?

My short answer is since you've had unexplained pain, inaction is NOT the correct course. Get it checked out. :D

Tell your doctor about that pain before the stress test!

And don't you even think about cancelling your stress test unless your doctor tells you differently.

Chest pain should not be ignored.

Doctor does know

Doctor does know

My doctors, both GP and cardiologist, Dr. Hogan at Texas Heart Institute, know my symptoms and are having the test, along with others, as a result. My reason for wanting to cancel was just that I feel fine now. I am going to go ahead, though. I just keep thinking that really I am doing great.
