jade (NEVER AGAIN)

<B>NEVER IS A VERY LONG TIME</B>, we all hope that you will never need another angiogram and I know that in time you will forget the pain.

All the best and good luck,

Jack.

It doesn't sound like yours went as well as others.

I've had so many hernia surgeries in that area, that it didn't bother me very much. I did bruise to beat the band though.

The Echo after the Angio does sound redundant to me, but I'm no professional. They must have a reason for wanting to do it.

Here's a brief description of some of the most common tests.

Angiogram: An x-ray of blood vessels, which can be seen because of an injection of a dye that shows up in the x-ray pictures.

Echocardiography: Echocardiography is a diagnostic test which uses ultrasound waves to make images of the heart chambers, valves and surrounding structures. It can measure cardiac output and is a sensitive test for inflammation around the heart (pericarditis). It can also be used to detect abnormal anatomy or infections of the heart valves.

Echocardiography, transesophageal: A diagnostic test which is done through the esophagus and which employs ultrasound waves to make images of the heart chambers, valves and surrounding structures.

Echocardiography, stress: A supplement to the routine exercise cardiac stress test. During stress echocardiography, the sound waves of ultrasound are used to produce images of the heart at rest and at the peak of exercise.

Oh, Jade - it sounds like it was awful. Doubt it was your period, tho. Sounds like rough handling to me as nobody else has said it was that bad. Didn't they sedate you at all! I am so sorry. Hope you never have to have another one. And more than happy there's no blockages. That, alone, is worth the pain you went through though I think you won't agree. Sounds like your cardio is going to cover all bases to make sure you are ok. God bless

Jade,

I had two angiograms about 3 months apart. It was a piece of cake. I was well sedated though, plus I didn't have any rough handling. I don't blame you for not wanting to do that again. If my first one was that bad, I don't think I would have let them touch me again either! So sorry to hear that. Thank God everything was okay. SO was mine. No Blockages!:)

Geez Jade, maybe your husband had the right idea by taking you to that other hospital.

I'm sorry that you had such an experience.... I hope that you let them know!

Echos are painless... I've had a mastectomy and am still tender on the left side, but the tech who did my last echo had previously worked with a surgeon who performed mastectomies so he was very gentle.

Glad that they didn't find anything.

Take care,
Zazzy

Ykesss!

Ykesss!

That sounds awful...I'd say it was the people giving the angiogram...never heard of such treatment...I sure wouldn't go there again for much of anything. Tell hubby to just keep going to the other hospital!

hi jade!
so sorry to hear about that awful experience having your angiogram! wow!! i don't think it's normally that bad. joey was not fully sedated because he wanted to watch the whole thing, but he didn't seem to mind it that much.
the good news though is that there are no blockages. that's really great news!
why don't you ask your cardio why he wants to do an echo after just having done the angiogram (which i also thought was a more specific test).
be well and please let us know what he says.

Hi Jade, I thought I would add my enlightenment...after my surgery, I had my period for 3 weeks straight. Yeah THAT was fun! I feel your pain, and I hope it gets better!
