John (Hubby) and I are both on medicare.....and for the first time in 45 years..Delta Airlines has sent out a new plan for age 65 retired Pilots. and spouse.... the 45 years is how long John was active/inactive.as a Pilot for Delta. We got the notice a few months ago..was ready..but, they were late sending the first form. So, I have been scurrying around..asking the Pharmacist, dentist, ect. the best plan. This first form is due by Dec. 8th..then the additional paperwork will be sent..due by Jan . 1st.....We have chosen the best plan for the same coverage. Hospital, meds, ect..but John has dentures and I know that I will probably have to have Dental Coverage for many years. and the only way for me to see my local dentist.was to sign up for an PPO for $80.00 a month. nearest HMO 100 miles away. No way....I fall beneath John.. We really don't mind paying. to keep Delta out of Bankruptcy..:) ..I'm thinking. is it possible for me to get insured less than $80.00 a month for Dental work?John doesn't need Dental work with dentures.......any Insurance members out there? :D Bonnie

My wife and I (both of us are on Medicare) have a dental policy we purchased through the Farm Bureau for $90 a month. However, it puts a lid of $1,000 annually in claims it will pay for each of us. I am wondering if we would be better off just doing without this insurance, and saving the $1,000-plus in premiums toward paying routine dental costs.

Do folks age-65 and over have any good options in purchasing dental insurance? My company's retiree benefits include decent health coverage but no dental coverage.
