I don't know how many of you watched the recent Summer Olympics in Beijing...but I did. And, for the most part, I couldn't get enough of the games and coverage. As was noted on the final broadcast, for 2 weeks every 2 years the world seems to come together like never before...and proves that we CAN get along (for the most part).

But...here is a commentary on how the 2016 Chicago Olympics MAY be like. Fair warning...I had a good chuckle out of this, but it is a rather irreverent look at the potential games....:

in our house, we just don't do sports. But we caught a bit of the Olympics and enjoyed it. I loved the part about the two best friends who won gold and silver.

nope, no sports. Daughter and I both had husbands or bf who loved sports and hogged the TV and we allowed it (sigh - shame on us) but when they left/passed on and the two of us decided to live in the same house it became unspoken that we don't have much interest in sports so why watch? It's a guy thing anyhow. However, we have occasional family men who come to visit and we relinquish the TV for them, but mostly they just wait til the womenfolk go to bed or out to the porch to chat for hours and hours and......... they sneak it in somehow.

Come on.........

That...and, of course, Michael Phelps' accomplishment in the pool!!!!
