I find it amazing that I almost feel back to normal and Im not even 3 weeks out yet.
I saw my surgeon on Wednesday and he was really amazed at how well im doing too.
My stamina is not 100% yet.
I do have a problem with my right leg. Almost my whole right thigh is numb. They said possibly a nerve was hit where I was hooked up to the heart lung machine. It could take up to 6 months for the feeling to come back. Sometimes when im walking I feel like im dragging that leg. Has anyone else experienced this?

Great news. I am 2 weeks out, and other than a 2 night setback due to fever, I feel pretty good. Not much energy yet, but feeling pretty good. Went out shopping for a bit this AM. No appetite yet and now have lost about 25 lbs since the surgery.

I'm glad things are going so well. Justin had the incision by his groin for the heart/lung machine for one of his surgeries and had problems (parts pain parts completly numb) with that thigh/leg for a few months, it graduallty got better I can't remeber how many months because we we're dealing with a feel things but one day I asked if his thigh was still numb and he touched it and said its better. It did bother him alot when he was trying to get all his walking in, in the beginning.

I had a Intra-aortic Balloon Pump from the day of my surgery for a week or so, through the femoral artery leaving 3 holes to heal. They healed pretty quickly but the inside of my thigh from the knee to where the ballon pump was is still numb after 1 year. Maybe they knicked a nerve?

A couple of little bumps but a great report

I had a balloon pump for 4 days pre-op when I was admitted as an emergency. They left it in for two days post op and, thankfully, I had no negative incidents related to it. My thigh never had numbness or any problem. Hopefully, it is a matter of time and yours will heal up nicely.

This is all so traumatic what happens to our bodies and each heals in its own time and way.

Sending you all best wishes, pspingmom.
