Good afternoon, wherever you may be!

Here's a quick update on my mother. She was cathed yesterday, and guess what? She has a 50% blockage in a small artery off the LAD and was diagnosed her with diffuse microvascular disease. She's being treated w/ meds, diet and exercise.

The timing of my mother's diagnosis is uncanny, or Divine Intervention. As some of you know, I was diagnosed with "endothelial dysfunction" last week, i.e., a variant of CAD where the coronary arteries constrict versus dilate.

Betty, if you're reading this, I wish I were in the cath lab when the chief cardio relayed the results of my mother's cath to the physicians in my family. My brother called and half-heartedly admitted that he was wrong, and I was right to pursue a definitive. His acknowledgment didn't fall on deaf ears. Turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks.

God is good.

All the best,

Older brother or younger brother??? A brother none the less! I hope you fought the urge to na.na na.na na-na :p him.

I'm really happy this is your month for answers.

Totally off the topic, but speaking of teaching an old dog new tricks... I'm fulfilling my desire to learn guitar and have been teaching myself lately. Bought a lovely new guitar yesterday. One of the first songs I learned to play was "Angie". My voice just doesn't seem to replace Mick's very well. The guitar players in my band have assured me that playing the guitar is the best way to keep from having to grow up. I'm giving it a try. :)

Hope you are having good weather to enjoy your beaches!

KIm,

I hope the meds do the trick for your mom. I'm glad old dogs can learn new tricks.....means there is still hope for me. :)

I sure do like the attitude of your post! Love and satisfaction both shine through.

Thank you, Kim. You probably bought your mother lots of extra time that she might not have had. You are a good child. Bless you. Tell Mom we have been thinking of her.

I am glad that your mother found out what the problem was. As you know, most people ignor the signs and other problems arise. Congrats and hope she feels better.
