I am all alone this week, except for the 4 cats and Miss Sally Sue. Daughter is off to Ecuador for a church mission trip and is somewhere in the boonies down there in a village in a valley. No contact with home at all. She will be gone until Sunday. Isn't it odd that when one is missing, there are a hundred questions you want to ask that missing person but can't. How frustrating.

However, I am going to start enjoying the aloneness tomorrow. Great grandchild didn't want me to be lonely so she came over yesterday and had to go home this afternoon because school is back in tomorrow. I wasn't lonely but did enjoy her company anyway.

If you're in the neighborhood stop by. I might need a jar opened. I can never do that.

My Brother Was Gone For A Week As Well Hensy...

And it was unbelievably quiet around here during that time, which was ok, because over the past couple of months, we have had some very bad family problems which has stressed my whole family out, and my heart has been acting up again, so the quiet really gave me a chance to get some rest. This I am most thankful for. Harrybaby:eek: :D

Ann,

I know you're a big girl and can take care of yourself, but just wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you and praying for you this week. I know when my wife was gone for three weeks when she went to California to get Perry, her guide dog, it was a tough three weeks for me. Being alone when you're not accustomed to it is in some ways a good time to catch up on things that you've put off, but can be a lonesome and boring time as well.

Jump on here anytime you want company. There's usually someone to "talk" to. But then again, you may be caught up in reading a mystery and won't even realize that the week has flown by. Take care.

You're not alone, we're here, all you have to do is hop on to the computer.

"I might need a jar opened. I can never do that."

I've got this jar lid thingy that fits around the edge of the jar and you pull up on it and it breaks the vacuum seal, which is what makes it so hard to open. Once that seal is broken, the jar lid comes right off. I have used the blade of a small scredriver in a pinch, just put it under the edge of the lid and give it a twist, and that should be enough to break the seal.

This is what I use

Hey, if you guys are ever lonely just send me a PM or e-mail. I'm usually bored and lonely even when my son and husband are home (which isn't too often). Since my surgery friends have kinda of deserted and excluded me. One might say that I have found a new family here at VR.com.
Just give me a shout
;) :)

Gee,
I wish I were up for a midnight "road trip"! I could zoom South, pick up Bonnie, and then we three could kick up our heels for a few days with no one around to fuss or record it!;) :p :p
I'll guess we'll have to confine our shenanigans to the internet . . . this time . . . but next time . . . . !!!!:D :D :D

so far I have not been alone. Had a visitor this morning. Tomorrow, uptown chores. Maybe staRTING tomorrow afternoon!!

My other daughter calls in every day from Atlanta. Son checks in from Sarasota.

I have books to read - have one going all the time, TV, and the computer. Guess I can't get into too much trouble.

Ann, do you still drive? I like some alone time but have found being housebound unless someone picks me up rather constricting. Its going on two months and it isn't even anything I can do anything about! I know there is always someone around that would bring me places and I have taken advantage of that. If you can drive then you could go visit someone if you get lonely. Otherwise, I've been hanging around the computer more than usual too.

Mary

Mary

Ann (hensylee)spent one day with me..Believe me..she would wear us out in 1 day..:p .Don't think we could hang with her for 3 days..:D One sexy/senior Gal....:) .she would have all the guys wanting to hang out with them..Not us.. ......One beautiful woman..:) Bonnie

my dear Joe passed on at the end of 1996 and I have lived alone since then except for a couple of times daughter came to live with me. I don't live with her - it's opposite, but most tend to think I live with her so she can look after me! NADA!! The house/property is mine. I have my own car, my own everything. Go wherever, whenever I wish - as Bonnie says. Self-sufficient. I do all my own chores, laundry, shopping, visiting - like any of you do. I do, however, park in the crippled parking space at the store. Walking distances makes me sob.:p

There was a 97 yr old neighbor who lived on the next property but she passed on in 1999 at the age of 98. I looked in on her. For quite awhile I was the only person on this road and it was so nice and quiet. Now we have 3 neighbors but they are in their own woods.

Someone type "road trip"????!?!?!?!?!!?

Sadly, I can't get away right now ... BUT ... Ann, I'll be in your area (well, Tallahassee anyway ... not sure how close that is to you) when I'm in FL in November ;).

I am about 150 miles west of Tallahassee, just off the interstate. I'd be thrilled to meet you after all this time. Florida is flat but the panhandle has lots of hills and you don't get to see them if you only travel in the rest of Florida. Our beaches are the most beautiful in the world. The water is green and that's why we are called the Emerald Coast.

Ann,

Looking at the map ... it appears you are sorta near the intersection of I-65 and I-10 ... is that correct?

I will see about adding a stop at your place as I'm heading up to Birmingham AL Wednesday the week after Thanksgiving....

I didn't any anything, Ross, but I HAVE already had one and looking forward to one more before she gets home.

Cort, I'm at I-10 and 331S. I-65 is out of Pensacola. I can show you a shortcut from here to I-65 cutting off a buncha miles. I will expect you.

*grins*

Sounds EXCELLENT, Ann!!!!

So, you're what, an hour or so away from Tallahassee?

As I noted here:
http://www.valvereplacement.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21868&highlight=November

...I'll be leaving Tally about 8am Wednesday morning, en route to Birmingham. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stop for a visit, but I definitely want to stop and see you :). Depending on how "early is too early" for you ... and, frankly, how early I can get up and going that morning, perhaps I could leave a bit earlier to have some additional time. I need to be in Birmingham by dinner time (5pmish)....

we are 150 miles west of Tally. They changed the mile markers so i don't know which one we are these days. Takes about 3 hrs, depending on how fast you travel. Keep me posted. I'll give you my phone & cell before you get goin so we can keep in touch. I am so looking forward to meeting you.

Montgomery is about 3 1/2 hrs from here and I have no idea how much farther it is to Birmingham. Bet Bonnie could give us an idea about driving time or mileage from one to the other. She was raised in one of these towns - or close.

I will print out your itinerary and put it on the fridge.

Hmmm....according to Mapquest, Montgomery to Birmingham is about 1.5 hours ... so ... from your place to Birmingham is about 5 hours ... maybe 6. So, to get to Birmingham by 5pmish, I'd have to leave your place around 11am.

Er, unless Birmingham is on central time ... I can't remember if they are or not. If they are on central, then I could leave Tally about 8am ... get to your place about 11am ... and be on the road by noon. IF, on the other hand, Birmingham is in the Eastern time zone, I'd have to leave Tally about 7am or so....

We'll see how this all works out, Ann :).

I am looking forward to meeting you as well!!!
