Airsoft/paintball

Have a bachelor party coming up and idea is to go airsoft-gaming. That’s quite common here in the Netherlands, followed by BBQ and pub crawl. For those who haven’t heard of airsoft; it is like paintball with smaller pellets shooting from replica rifles. Looking forward to it but have no idea what to expect given I have never played on a Coumarin derivative (fenprocoumon in my case). I think I’ll catch a couple of bruises and be fine but was wondering if there’s actual experience amongst you. Thanks!

I dont know about airsoft but I have played paintball many many years ago in my 20s and got a few good smacks, I’d play it again tommorow if the opportunity came up warfarin or not, so have fun.

Sounds fun! I have played both airsoft and done paintball. The last time was paintball about 5 years ago. That was before my surgery, so I can't help there, but with all the protective head gear and such, I would not hesitate to play again.

But, be careful with the pub crawl. Haven't you heard? If you have more than one or two drinks it will almost certainly be the end of you if you're on warfarin!

Naw!! It'll take more than 5 to cause much of a wiggle in your INR.......at least that was my experience and I had a lot of experience in my younger years .

I keep telling myself that it's ok to keep having an occasional good time and down a few, because I'm in my younger years. At what age can we no longer use that excuse?
I guess I'll ruminate on that the next time I decide to throw a few back

........it would only take a couple of shots of that stuff (126 proof) and you would be unable to move......much less crawl. I live in Kentucky but I've never heard of that Bourbon brand........must be distilled at midnite up in the hills. Stuff that strong we usually call moonshine, not Bourbon.

There were times I was super careful indeed, not exceeding 2 a day. Fortunately, I now know things aren’t as bad and I regularly enjoy my liquor again. To quote my surgeon when I asked him about life on warfarin; “life is for the living”.

i certainly don’t advocate heavy drinking. But, some of the most fun times are celebratory, such as weddings, The thought that one will forever be limited to 2 drinks while on warfarin can be depressing, not to mention completely false.

Went playing airsoft yesterday. Fantastic activity, running, crawling and diving whilst dodging bullets. Awesome, can highly recommend it. Took a couple of hits on the forearms and legs, but nothing to bad on an INR of 2.6 (when I got home after the pubcrawl ).

Interesting the way the "bruising" seems to be at the shock wave and not due to the projectile hit. I don't think I've ever had a bruise like that.

Interesting the way the "bruising" seems to be at the shock wave and not due to the projectile hit. I don't think I've ever had a bruise like that.

I have about a dozen they all look the same like this. Right in the centre you can actually spot a couple of tiny vessels sprung but you are right, the look atypical for a bruise. Other Interesting fact, I saw a couple of the others’ bruises not on any Coumadin and some of them are a lot worse than mine.
