I had my third ?interrogation? (where do they come up with these words?procedure, episode, therapy, mild anything) on my implanted AICD today. As some of you may remember, I had an impedance problem with the lead going into my heart. It was ?repositioned? while I had my OHS. The impedance was still high but after tests it was found that the Defib portion would deliver what was necessary if my heart needed it.
During my second interrogation just after my OHS, the St Jude?s rep said she still didn?t like the high numbers but as long as things were working we would leave it alone (AIN?T BROKE, DON?T FIX). Today, as she was looking at the computer screen she said ?hum? . I told her that was almost as bad as ?OOOOPS? with a heart patient . She said the capture threshold had reached 6.25V which was at the borderline. In other words (as she explained to me in layman?s terms) if it went higher it might not sense my heart beat change and deliver a necessary jolt. And it would also shorten the battery life. She said WE (why do they always say that?it?s my HEART lady ) would wait for the next interrogation and see what readings she gets. Then THEY (WE/THEY?Got a mouse in your pocket) will decide if something needs to be done, i.e., replacement.
At least it still hasn?t gone off, thank God.
Other than that, everything was fine. I also finished (or survived) my 36th (and last) Cardio Rehab session today. Now it will be up to me to keep this A** moving.
May God Bless,
Danny
