Hi all!

Today I participated in my local American Heart Association's annual heart walk with some members and staff from my cardiac rehab group. A 4 mile walk though a county park with literally hundreds if not thousands of heart/stroke survivors and supporters (and pets too!) I'm happy to say the walk was pretty much a breeze for me... which is great considering I'm still not even three months out from my surgery date! There were two pretty big hills on the walk, and I managed them well, although the second one did slow me down a little. All in all it was a great event with lots of great people young and old.

The best part was that I personally raised over $1,100 for the American Heart Association!!! What a great feeling!

I just wanted to share since this was such a good accomplishment for me mentally and physically! Not to mention that I proudly wore my ValveReplacement.com T-shirt to the event!!

What a victory so soon after surgery for both you and AHA.
Cute dogs. I am sure they must make your life even more happy.
I recently walked 6 miles to attend a political rally because all the roads were closed. I did not think I could walk that far and was thrilled that I made it and didn't even have soreness the next day.
What exciting times we live in.
Take care,
Gina

Stephanie,
Congratulations on your walk and raising so much money for the AHA. After my dad died from a heart attack, my mom became the chairwoman for the American Heart Association society in our small Southern Illinois county. Her involvment in the society eased some of her grief, and in the many years that she ran the group, they managed to raise a great deal of money for the Illinois chapter.
I personally think they are a great group and a worthwhile cause to support.

Stephanie:

Congratulations on walking 4 miles and raising $1,100+ for AHA.

I got a call last night asking me to help with some AHA fund-raising project in February. Caller had no inkling I had had OHS. My husband & I have given to AHA through the years.

Congratulations, Stephanie! Way to go! I don't think we have walks like that around here but if I hear of one I'll follow your example and put on my walking shoes.

Hey, Stephanie!

Good job on the walk and fundraising. I bet you felt great about both. I hope you took the dogs with you!

Mine still loves to walk, but at 13, all she can manage is a slow ten minute circle around the block. She gets a little envious when we go out the door for our runs now. Back when she could run, I was the one who couldn't keep up!

Glad to hear that you're doing so well.

Congratulations

Congratulations

That is totally awesome Stephanie! Congratulations. My dog runs up to 8 miles with me. He loves to go so much, I have to really hang on that first couple of miles! That is wonderful on the fund raising and for a very good cause.
